How to revamp your business during COVID-19

Hands up who wants to king hit COVID! There is no denying the impact that it has had on all of us and it has most definitely affected businesses across the country. There is less money circulating the economy, consumers are super cautious and their spending habits have changed. More businesses are competing online for mindshare and the market will be inundated with businesses offerings.

Brands that are not offering any clear, compelling, attractive and value relevant to the post COVID economy will not stand out and may be left behind. (sad face)

This is the first time anyone alive in business has ever dealt with something like this. So how do we plan for it if there is no guidebook?

While the unknown is challenging most businesses, there is still a lot that we do know that we can work with.

What are those? For one, we know that brands that are authentic and consistent kick ass over those that are not. One feel. One voice. Blah blah. We may sound like the idiots’ guide to branding, but it is true. If you have a clearly defined purpose and are consistent with it, you will have an epic advantage. Brands with a unique offering that fulfill a new need or an old need in a new way will be in demand.

Let’s use us for example (because who doesn’t love a plug?) We know that businesses are struggling with cash flow during and after COVID and we also know that businesses want to re-launch post corona with a cool new look, maybe a new offering and they want exposure to push it to their perfect audience. So, we have designing packages especially for that and offering payment plans so that businesses can get what they want and need and it is less likely to affect their cashflow. (Call us) 😉

SO! Is your brand ready to embrace the brave new world? Here are a few tips to make your journey out of COVID a success…

1.Know your customer

Make sure you understand the mindset of your audience’s post COV-19 (are they ready for commercial conversations or are they still scrambling and trying just to survive?). Don’t make assumptions. If you treat your audiences like a mass market, they will treat you like a mass marketer! Is your offering relevant now? What can you learn from your customers, perhaps through conversations or some simple research, that may help you shape your brand and products to be more competitive in the post COVID-19 world?

2.Be authentic and clear

Say exactly what you mean. Make sure your whole team understands your message and your customer promise. As a collective with the same message, makes you consistent and trustworthy.

3.Be distinctive and vital AF

This is not a time for being beige baby! Be fire and be consistent. Re-connect with your core purpose and review and refine your visual brand. Get your brand voice to focus on how unique you are what problem your product or service solves.

4.Become Digi-awesome

There is no denying that brands will need to be more enabled in the digital world Do you have the current digital assets and digital marketing approach to competently engage your audiences in this way? Do you have the tools, the internal capability and the external support in place to ensure your brand is performing optimally online?

If your brand wasn’t performing optimally prior to COVID-19, the effects are likely to be more pronounced on the other side.

Is it time for a rebrand? Or a direct marketing campaign? Whatever it be, now is definitely a good time to reflect on and possibly hone in on your brand so that it isn’t ignored in the recovery.

Good luck business soldiers. We are here if you need us.
